Work You Believe In

“I was dyslexic, I had no understanding of schoolwork whatsoever. I certainly would have failed IQ tests. That was one of the reasons I left school when I was 15 years old. if I’m not interested in something, I don’t grasp it.”

-Richard Branson

Clearly Branson is no dummy and his path to success was paved with great adversity. I can’t think of one example of significant professional accomplishment where there was lack of passion and tenacity. If you are doing work that is unsatisfying or working with people who don’t value your unique perspective and contributions, move on. When you engage in work you believe in and are more than casually interested in, people who value your perspective will find you.
